So we’re getting ready for the big garage sale, last minute of course. As I’m pulling out toys that haven’t been graced by my childrens attention in over a year of course they are now treasures. I’m being harsh, strict mama though, insisting that they go. Anything “baby” is going. Anything ridiculously noisy is going. This is serious decluttering. Of our lives and creative play. It’s just been too much, too long and it’s time to let go of the “more toys means better toys” mentality. Don’t you dare bring up my fabric. I’m only saving super special clothes, since even if we went bankrupt tomorrow I’d have enough fabric to keep the kids fashionably clothed for a decade. My maternity clothes are going. We have 3 rocking horses (well one rocking unicorn, one rocking moose and a little tikes rocking horse that is green) and I’m being harassed about getting rid of the last one.
We’re keeping some special things. We’re keeping dolls, all. Blocks and legos, all 1800 of them. Cars stay. But wait, do you hear that? No? Right. Because that’s how much noise blocks make. They don’t beep.

Good for you! My kids do the same thing when we go through their toys, things they haven’t touched since the packaging was removed are suddenly their favoritest toy ever and how could I even consider getting rid of it. We also have a serious lack of things that make noise, the only problem I have with it is that when we go to other people’s houses I find myself in sensory overload from their kids toys, lol.
